Sandy City Arts Council
Organized and funded by Sandy City, this
volunteer group focusses on bringing the arts
to the southern part of Salt Lake County.
Posters were needed to promote the programs.
Selections were made to feature the Nutcracker
and Oklahoma performances.
Oklahoma
A great musical, with many very successful
melodies and lyrics, was performed at Broadway
in New York City.
The poster was silk-screened in red, blue, tan,
dark tan, yellow, brown and black.
Attention and theme for the poster was love
in Oklahoma’s wide open landscape covered
with tall grasses.
The Nutcracker
A beloved classic ballet provided an ideal
opportunity for local dancers to perform in
one of the best ballets Russion composer
Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky wrote.
The poster was silk-screened in blue, black,
red, mauve, and yellow. Focus was on the
popular nutcracker found in homes during
the Christmas season and the center of this
masterpiece.
