Posters
Posters, affiches, placards, and billboards
promote all kinds of venues. The following
designs are ideas how events can be advertised
for the public to see and read.
In most cases, posters can be seen as
announcements, however, they can be as small
as 8x10 or as large as 36x60 inches.
Famous posters have been designed in France,
Italy, England. and Switzerland. Many of them
were placed on walls or on round street kiosks. .
Billboards
Nobody in their right mind writes anything down
while driving 60 or 70 miles an hour on freeways,
a place where most billboards are placed.
Brief messages are very critical, a concept is
even better for a driver to remember.
Telephone numbers, addresses, and other vital
information is counter productive because only
two seconds are awarded to viewing a billboard.
Graphic Artists, such as Henri de Toulouse-
Lautrec, Milton Glaser, Peter Max, and Mcray
Magleby, to name a few, are inspiring sources.
Announcements
Concert and event posters are normally seen
as an event notice. Specific dates and places
are listed and, together with graphics and/or
photographic images, provide the public with
the normal when, who, what and where.
Total freedom to design is not always afforded,
yet most unique presentations are frequently
welcomed.
