Travel Council State of Utah
Tourists from all over the United States and
foreign countries visit state summer and winter
resorts. Utah is ideal for all kinds of activities
and sports. All venues are located closely to
towns and cities..
To assist tourists, a Federal sign system was
designed to identify parks and recreation areas.
Other state locations needed to be identified as
well, as long as they were created in a similar
format within the existing Federal sign system.
Only one-fifth of the additional designs are
shown here. There are very few design options
> available except to be creative and visualize an activity worth displaying to help the public.
The depictions on the signs allow tourists to
identify the what, where, when and how answers
sought after.
The uniformity of each identifying image had
to be kept the same as the Federal System, with
colors to fit in and compliment all other signs
in existence.
