Christmas Peace on Earth
This poster stands alone among the many
graphic designs completed over many years.
The poster became controversial as someone
found it appropriate to point out that the idea
was plagiarized from CA Magazine.
The sender even provided a page torn from
the magazine to proof a point.
The creation of the poster was legitimate,
designed and executed without any intent
to take away the credentials that would
otherwise belong to someone else.
Unfortunately, the writer did not know the
facts. The poster was developed before the
similar idea was placed for recognition in
the magazine.
What made the note so ugly was that the
writer chose to send it anonymously.
The similarity was just that––a creative work
unexpectedly having the same inspiration but
created by two different artists not knowing
what the other did.
The poster idea was created for the silk-
screen process, 24”x30” in size, printed in
multiple colors with a gloss black overprint.
The text reads:
The dove speaks many tongues
And none.
She’s been to many lands
And run.
But nowhere she could land
And rest.
For few could be a friend
At best.
